Closed face reel for modern lure fishing
This underspin reel can be used with spinning rods. With a maximum line capacity of over 80cm per turn of the handle, it can be used comfortably in a variety of fishing situations, including trout fishing, bass fishing, and saltwater lures such as sea bass fishing.
Its traditional design is combined with a hybrid mechanism that combines modern and traditional design concepts. It also takes into account the latest tackle settings such as PE line, and is packed with performance that is sufficient for all of the diverse and evolving fishing scenes.
A new reel option born from ultra-high precision processing technology
The design was handled by Shintaro Omori, the current chief designer at Isuzu Industries, who also produced the diamond reel Mi-CON. The product is manufactured by Isuzu Industries, Japan's oldest reel manufacturer, a firm believer in the traditional reel scene.
The TU-01, created using ultra-high precision processing technology, has the potential to break the conventional wisdom of spin casting and become a ``new genre'' that no one has ever imagined.
The "underspin" reel has now become a third option in the selection of spinning or baitcasting reels.It is a new reel that overcomes the drawbacks of the traditional spincast reel.

In 2026, the underspin cast reel TU-01v+ will enter a new realm.
The TU-01, which was released in 2017, features a traditional design with a reel capacity of over 80cm per turn of the handle, a trouble-free high-precision design, and compatibility with PE line.However, thanks to modern design concepts and manufacturing techniques, it was born as a modern underspin cast reel that is packed with performance that is sufficient for all of the diverse and evolving fishing scenes.
In 2026, the TU-01 will incorporate a new structure and evolve into a new realm as the TU-01v+.
The ceramic pickup pin has been upgraded to an IP coated roller supported by two bearings. The roller has a V-groove for more stable line catching and smoother retrieval.
It also supports PE line as usual.
It features a newly designed handle knob with bearings on both the top and bottom. The handle arm and handle shaft are also shorter than previous models. This reduces strain on the wrist during retrieval and improves mass balance, allowing for more sensitive and linear operation. The handle nut uses an O-ring, which locks the handle arm more firmly.
The rotor nut of the TU-01v+ is a new part that has been specially processed to fit an O-ring. The O-ring makes it possible to secure the rotor more stably.
The above parts are sold as an assembly (compatible with the conventional TU-01 series).
V series with shallow groove V spool as standard equipment
This series comes standard with the popular optional "shallow V-spool" in a red anodized finish. The V-shaped spool bottom reduces tangles and other problems, and expands the line selection, including product type and thickness. It has the same line capacity as a standard spool.
Regarding left and right handlebar swapping
You can easily switch the handle from left to right with just a flathead screwdriver, but do so at your own risk.

After repeated fishing trips, dirt can accumulate inside the reel, causing it to become difficult to operate. We have put together an easy-to-understand maintenance method, so if you are interested, please give it a try.
