Towards even greater heights... HS8

White, Pink, Light Green / 120m, 180m, and 240m single rolls

Features

Thanks to the Smooth Surface Processing (SSP), the surface is unlike conventional 8-strand lines, resembling monofilament, allowing for stress-free line release. You can feel the smooth "release" whether using an out-guide or inter-guide setup. Conquer uncharted areas!
Normally, the further you cast, the larger the surface area becomes, resulting in more resistance in the water and making line handling more difficult. Therefore, it was not possible to transmit 100% of the rod's jigging motion to the jig. However, with "SSP," the speed at which the line cuts through the water is improved, increasing the transmission power and allowing the jig to dart more boldly. In addition, the simple and easy-to-understand marking pattern with color rotation every 10 meters makes it "easy" to check the distance of your cast and drift.

Seeking to reach even greater heights, Hirohito Yamada meticulously developed
"Higher Stage 8," which enables the ultimate long-casting performance he had always desired.

A new 8-BRAID that surpasses 8-BRAID.

Those who regularly enjoy eging (squid fishing) are probably already aware of this fact, but until now, Hirohito Yamada has only used 4-braid lines when eging.
This is evident from the "PE EGI ULT" that he produced. However, in recent years, his unique technology for processing PE lines has further improved, resulting in
the creation of an 8-braid PE line that Hirohito Yamada is "satisfied" with. This marks the beginning of a new era in eging.

Excellent casting feel! Don't miss the opportune moment!!

Compared to 4BRAID, 8BRAID is made up of finer fibers, resulting in a structure closer to a perfect circle and a smoother surface.
Naturally, a smoother line surface means reduced friction. To explain this more simply, imagine a smooth ice rink versus a rough road surface. As you can
probably guess, it takes less force to pull a load on a smooth surface than on a rough one.
Applying this physics to casting an egi (squid jig), it becomes possible to increase casting distance without hindering the jig's flight.

Of course, simply switching from 4BRAID to 8BRAID will increase casting distance. However, that would n't be a "new 8BRAID that surpasses the original 8BRAID," nor would it be the line that Hirohito Yamada sought.
The special feature of this PE EGI ULT HS8 is that, thanks to the SSP (Smooth Surface Processing), even when the surface of the line is examined under an optical microscope, not even the slightest fiber fuzz is visible.
As a result, even with repeated casts, the jig reaches the target point smoothly, allowing you to concentrate on fishing without accumulating stress.
This means you won't miss the opportune moment, which may only occur for a short time each day.

What are the benefits of letting water run dry!?

One of the reasons Hirohito Yamada avoided 8BRAID was its "poor water-repellent properties." Have you ever experienced a situation where it works well when new, but then the casting distance of your squid jig suddenly drops off? The problem lies in the structure of 8BRAID.
As mentioned above, each strand is a collection of thin fibers, so it easily absorbs and retains moisture. This makes the line itself heavier, making it harder to release from the spool and resulting in reduced casting distance. However, conversely, we believe that if we can solve this problem, the eging scene will evolve even further, so we have put all our efforts into solving this challenge.
And finally, we have succeeded. What made this possible was, once again, SSP (Smooth Surface Processing).
Not only is the surface smooth, but by making the collection of fibers even smoother and more densely packed, there are no gaps for water to enter, and even if water droplets cling to the surface, most of the water droplets fall off when the line is wound onto the spool, so subsequent casts fly smoothly.
With its smooth surface and the fact that it doesn't carry water droplets that can degrade casting feel, it's an excellent match not only for out-guide rods but also for interline rods.

Commitment to durability

Another drawback of 8BRAID is its low durability.
In order to create a smoother weave, the angle between the fibers inevitably becomes steeper.
This leaves little slack in the lines, which can lead to unexpected breakage.
To improve this, 8BRAID also uses UltimatePE (ULT PE), which has thicker individual fibers, resolving this problem. Of course, the line diameter remains thin.

Attention to color

The color of seawater varies from region to region: a greenish hue, a clear, transparent color, the color of the tide like a splash of indigo, a color reflecting the surrounding scenery... Even in these conditions, the angler is constantly tracking the trajectory of their line.
Colors that blend in with the seawater can lead to losing sight of the line, making it difficult to notice even the slightest changes in the line.
'White, pink, and light green' are designed to solve this problem.
These colors make it possible to say, as Hirohito Yamada often says , "Sensing the changes and actively setting the hook!"

A wide range of sizes expands the possibilities for fishing.

The PE EGI ULT HS8 line comes in three sizes: 120m (0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 1), 180m (0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 1), and 240m (0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7). A new 0.7 size has been added, allowing for more precise adjustments based on conditions and seasons. It also includes a thicker size that is essential when targeting monster squid weighing over 3kg, such as those caught on expeditions to remote islands.
