Routes S68ML

Maximum fish species catch potential

This ultra-versatile ML power spinning reel minimizes the inconveniences of traveling.

ML power for a wide range of fishing

. Development began with the goal of targeting small snakeheads lurking in the waterways of Southeast Asia and elsewhere. Aiming to create a highly functional multi-spinning reel essential for travel, we began testing domestically and internationally, focusing on fish that can be targeted with PE rods of 0.8-1. Target species include black bass, sea bass in small to medium-sized rivers, chinning, and rockfish up to 1kg, all species that can be targeted with ML-class rods. Strength tests also included Spanish mackerel (Spanish mackerel) and small bluefish (approximately 2kg) using jigs up to 40g . Considering the unknowns of what you might catch on a trip , we tested it in a variety of anticipated fishing situations in Japan.

While this spinning rod is labeled ML-class, the tip is more like ML and the butt is more like M-class. While a slight power increase was added to account for unexpectedly large fish caught overseas, the power was kept within a range where PE rod #1 would not feel too thin.

The 6-foot-8-inch length ensures maneuverability and long-distance casting while maintaining the maximum retracted length of the four-piece reel at 55cm or less . Additionally, we also considered the length to be easy to handle when fishing from a boat.
The rear grip is designed to be long enough to not interfere with finesse fishing for black bass (approximately 30.5cm from the center of the reel seat), and it's also long enough to hold the reel in your armpit while fighting. The tip piece is designed to provide sufficient weight

even with light lures, taking into consideration castability and maneuverability for lures under 10g. This improves the accuracy of side and backhand casts. Since a tip that is too soft would sacrifice long-distance casting, we kept it just long enough to ensure sufficient long-distance casting. The sinking pencil "Topaz 45S" shown in the photo weighs approximately 3g, and while this is the lower limit, we designed it to have enough power to cast up to the upper limit of 21g . To be honest, however, it's no problem for light undercasting of jigs of around 40g. A 2500-size

reel is recommended. Shimano's C3000XG can also be used if you want to increase the reel capacity. PE line 0.8-1 is ideal. When using light lures or in locations requiring long casting distances, 0.6 may be used, but in that case, loosen the drag slightly. I usually use a 12-20 lb leader. For sharp-toothed fish, I sometimes use a 25 lb leader, but in that case, I'll be fishing vertically rather than casting. I also recommend using 6 lb fluorocarbon or 8 lb nylon . This model emphasizes maneuverability while maintaining the classic medium-elasticity feel characteristic of the Tsulala. A travel rod isn't just about strength, it's also about maneuverability. Both are necessary. It needs to be durable enough to last the trip and have the maneuverability to bite the target fish. This rod is packed with performance in a simple, unadorned way, which is why it's called the Roots series. With a retracted length of 54cm , it's portable enough for a pack rod , and it's the ultimate versatile pack rod, offering the perfect balance between plugging minnows and vibrations and bottom-manipulating worms, accommodating a wide range of fish, from small to large. It's a comfortable rod that you'll want to use every day, even when not traveling. Experience the 4-piece ML spinning reel for yourself, as it's not just a secondary rod.

Let me explain the background to the creation of this rod.
My lure fishing roots lie in bass fishing from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. This was a time when bass rods in the low 6' range were the standard length, and longer rods in the high 6' range, even 7' range, were becoming mainstream. Around 2005, my favorite rod was, as was the case with many others, a medium-light spinning rod in the high 6' range. It wasn't a flagship model with high elasticity, but a low-priced entry-level model. I

used this spinning rod to fish all kinds of waters, including black bass, in the ocean and rivers. On days when I didn't want to waste a single second, I would decide to go after black bass, but on the way there I would try my hand at black porgy, and on the way back I would target sea bass. It was a busy day like that. I wanted to see as many fish species as possible and fish for as long as possible.

Since then, I'd realized the versatility of the "high 6' ML spinning rod," but it wasn't until I went fishing overseas while working as a salaryman that I became convinced of this. When traveling overseas, where luggage and costs are limited, how can you prepare effectively for your secondary targets without neglecting your main target? For example, suppose you're going on an overseas fishing trip with three tackle sets, and you're targeting Asian countries with toman, and you've brought two sets of heavy tackle. With only one set of tackle left, a "strong spinning rod" like this is extremely useful. And a pack rod is a must. If you take it to Asia, it's excellent for targeting bait-based fish like harlowans and other small snakeheads, kasupu (hammerhead), marshmallows, catfish, and carp. The ML power, combined with "fishing that feels strong" and "fishing that feels weak," allows for an incredibly wide range of fishing, which is especially useful when traveling.

It also serves as a way to encourage relaxed play for all those surviving tidal waves. If you can get to the water even a little in between, I hope you'll take the opportunity to fish. It's impossible to do your best without a break. Having worked as an office worker for many years, I understand very well the value of a 4-piece rod that can be carried in a variety of places.

The Roots S68ML is versatile and can be adjusted even in unfamiliar areas. It provides high performance for a wide variety of fish species. And I hope that anyone who uses this rod will catch lots of fish. Like you, I find fishing to be incredibly fun no matter how old I get. So I hope to be able to share that with you, even if just a little, through my equipment.
I hope that anglers who pick up this rod will have a memorable encounter with a fish.
