The latest isn't always the best.
This stiff, winding rod from Kaleido, which revives the old-fashioned guides and straight, foregrip design, represents their practical approach to fishing.
The Super Stallion is a heavy-duty, versatile rod with a big taper that excels at casting distance and amplifying sensitivity, making it indispensable for monster game fishing, especially with large lures in general, particularly soft swimbaits and big baits weighing 1 oz or more. This representative rigid rod of the Kaleido series has been set up as a vibration amplification-specialized rod by mixing cutting-edge and traditional materials. It has been reborn as the Super Stallion GT2RS, an ultra-sensitive, large lure and swimbait rod suitable for lower-stance fishing.
The blank mainly uses high-strength, high-modulus carbon "ToraycaĀ® T1100G," with some ultra-high modulus 40-ton carbon used. Furthermore, the tip is reinforced with a 45-degree Super Quattro Cross at the tip and a 30-degree at the butt, reinforcing the entire rod. It achieves more than 15% greater tenacity without changing the overall weight of the conventional model.
On this latest blank, the guides are the large-diameter titanium frame SiC ring double-foot LN type that was deliberately adopted from the original Kaleido Super Stallion. The total number of guides is nine, which is quite a small number by current theory for a 7-foot-1-inch length rod. The intention behind this is not only to consider the frequent use of thick lines when using large lures and to ensure smooth line release, but also because a larger guide diameter and fewer guides increase line freedom, allowing for a greater and clearer feel of the vibrations of retrieved lures, and enabling a high level of performance in swimbait and big bait fishing that frequently uses slack line.
The gripĀ uses the AAA champagne cork fromĀ the RS Limited series , but the shape is the straight type that is standard forĀ the GT seriesĀ . Furthermore, it is equipped with a foregrip, which is the only exception among the initial lineups of both the RS Limited and GT series.
The cork material has an aerial vibration amplification effect similar to that of an acoustic guitar, and the addition of a foregrip, along with the large surface area of the straight grip, dramatically improves sensitivity transmission. Moreover, the straight grip further enhances the rigidity of the high taper, making it the optimal shape for casting, vibration and bite detection, and hooking as a rod for large retrieved lures and swimbaits.
In order to create the ultimate Super Stallion, we narrowed down the materials and parts through testing, arriving at a combination of the latest materials, older parts, and even a design that might seem like it belongs to a previous era. The Super Stallion GT2RS, bearing the special name GT2RS, is proof that the latest does not necessarily equal the best, and is the result of purely pursuing the best.

The all-double-foot guide design doubles the surface area of the guide foot and thread, reinforcing bending and twisting, resulting in increased toughness and rigidity.
Furthermore, instead of the latest small-diameter titanium frame Torzite ring guides, older large-diameter LN guides (titanium frame, SiC rings) are deliberately used with the minimum number of guides relative to the blank length. This allows the line to move freely between the guides and within the guide rings, making vibrations more noticeable.
