Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form involving creating prints of fish and other sea creatures. The process involves applying ink to the subject and then pressing paper onto it to create an impression. Originally used by fishermen to document their catches, gyotaku has evolved into a recognized art form.
These are actual fish prints done by one of the few Japanese Gyotaku association members and artists, using actual fishes and prints on washi paper.
