185mm. Pliers with a PE cutting function that makes it easy to open large rings.
It features a special ring opener with two angle settings. It combines a sharp angle for easy insertion into rings with a blunt angle that allows for wide opening and maintains a comfortable working position. The handle is equipped with a spring, ensuring a secure grip and preventing slippage even when working on a rocking boat.
The ring opens wide easily. A multi-functional plier that can cut PE line with ease.
The "Power Pliers" are multi-functional pliers that can also be used as a ring opener and PE line cutter. Their most distinctive feature is the shape of the tip, which is designed with ease of opening and closing split rings in mind. They are especially recommended when handling lures equipped with large split rings, as they not only allow for smooth lure changes but also enable you to perform various tasks with just one tool.
The secret to the easy opening and closing of the split ring lies in the shape of its tip. This tip is carefully designed to have an angle that makes it easy to attach and detach the opened ring, and the angle and length of the tip were adjusted down to the millimeter through repeated prototyping. Furthermore, the rings are available in a wide range of sizes, from #5 to #11, making them suitable for various types of fishing, including rock shore and offshore casting, jigging, and SLJ (Super Light Jigging).
The secret to the ease with which PE line can be cut lies in the combination of the "rubbing structure" and the "serrated blades." First, the "rubbing structure" is a structure that cuts by rubbing the blades together, like ordinary scissors. This is suitable for cutting by cutting through the fibers, making it a good match for PE line. In comparison, there is the "push-cut structure" which cuts by bringing the blades together, but after testing the compatibility with PE line, the "Power Pliers" adopted the "rubbing structure" which is a better match.
The "Power Pliers" are designed with a focus on an easy-to-grip handle shape. Not only can they be opened and closed easily with one hand, but even strong rings can be opened and closed with minimal force. This makes changing lures and hooks smooth even on a rocking boat.
The locking mechanism, designed for quick opening and closing, was meticulously crafted to allow for one-handed operation. When holding the pliers in your right hand, you can lock the mechanism with a single touch using your thumb. The design aims for ease of use even when one hand is occupied with a fish grip or other tool.
The "Power Pliers" are treated with a fluorine coating. These pliers are made of stainless steel, which is inherently rust-resistant, but the fluorine coating makes them even more rust-resistant. In the image above, the left pliers have a fluorine coating, and the right pliers do not. Both pliers were left submerged in seawater for 10 days to test how much the rust rate changed over time. You can see that the fluorine-coated pliers are more rust-resistant.
Compatible with split rings #5 to #11.
