The flowers that bloom at night continue to shine brighter.

In 2005, the "Gekka Bijin" (Moonlight Beauty) tackle, specifically designed for light saltwater fishing, first appeared in DAIWA's lineup. Like the beautifully blooming flower, the Gekka Bijin dances, and the angler moves with energy. The
Gekka Bijin tackle has evolved to handle horse mackerel, a familiar target that sometimes requires an extremely delicate approach, and large, cunning rockfish that hide in the shadows of rocks and in gaps in seaweed, cautiously waiting for bait to appear nearby. The Gekka Bijin will continue to evolve together with anglers, providing joy and pleasure like never before experienced. The lustrous glow of the Gekka Bijin continues to illuminate the light saltwater game.

The ultimate bait finesse casting reel specifically designed for PE line.

Freedom from line troubles leads to an unprecedented level of stress-free performance.
The Gekka Bijin BF TW PE SPECIAL is a bait finesse model that enhances the ability to perform low-trajectory pitching and long-distance casting with micro lures using PE line.
The SS MAGFORCE-exclusive Φ28mm G1 duralumin PE-specific spool and TWS (Twisted Welding System) maximize line release, combined to achieve an uncharted territory. It invites expert anglers to even greater heights.
In addition to further compactness, the frame and gear-side side plate are made of Mg (magnesium), and the set plate is made of AL (alkaline), achieving both lightness and rigidity. The HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR ensures smooth rotation performance for extended periods despite a gear ratio of 8.5.
Furthermore, the drag click provides support with a drag sound during close-range line tension battles.

Recommended lure weight: 0.8g to 5g jigs.

Daiwa Technology

TWS (T-WING SYSTEM)
TWS has successfully reduced resistance at the line guide closest to the spool, where the spool rotation speed is highest. By reducing the resistance to casting distance, it not only improves casting distance and control beyond conventional methods, but also allows for faster fall and reduced backlash. It has realized new possibilities for level wind not only during retrieval, but also during casting.
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
Aiming for long-lasting high initial performance, the Hyper Drive design represents a next-generation design philosophy for baitcasting reels, significantly raising the standard of all basic performance aspects. The Hyper Drive design consists of up to four technologies: Hyper Drive Digigear, which ensures smooth rotation for extended periods; Hyper Double Support, which assists gear drive and provides strong, light winding; Hyper Armed Housing, which strongly supports the internal structure and is resistant to bending and distortion; and Hyper Tough Clutch, an insulated structure that continues to operate even in harsh locations and drastically reduces seizing due to salt corrosion. The synergistic effect of these technologies ensures stable performance in all fields.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. By increasing the meshing ratio without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth, which directly affects durability, DAIWA's unique technology ensures that the initial smoothness lasts for a long time.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that achieves sustained smoothness and strong yet light winding. By precisely supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two ball bearings, it does not dampen the input from the handle, enabling powerful and light winding even under load.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL METAL)
The housing system provides high rigidity and precision to firmly support the internal structure, resulting in a refined winding feel and powerful performance. The use of metal material for the crucial frame is a necessary condition, and in combination with the side plates and set plates, it enables the basic performance to be maintained for an even longer period.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
This clutch system offers not only sharp on/off performance that allows it to continue sliding thousands or even tens of thousands of times, but also extremely trouble-free even in saltwater environments with high salinity. Its cutting-edge insulation structure has already resulted in a 99% reduction in the number of seizure repairs in harsh saltwater environments compared to our previous models.
SS MAGFORCE
A structural revolution in the variable inductor rotor section that leads the way in bait finesse.
Developed with the aim of creating an even lower inertia spool, a previously unexplored territory, the new magnetic brake structure is SS MAGFORCE. Its characteristics include casting performance that is strong even in adverse conditions and possesses the versatility to match various anglers and diverse situations. With an instant spool rotation response, lures released from a compact swing trace a low, smooth trajectory, hitting the target spot.
Zero Adjuster
First, adjust the "Zero Adjuster" and set the "Spool Play Zero" setting. Thanks to the evolution of magnetic brakes, it is now possible to control all lures using only the magnetic dial. The
"Zero Adjuster" is a mechanism that allows you to enjoy fishing comfortably without malfunctions during fishing by adjusting it to the "zero setting" before starting to fish.
*The "Spool Play Zero" setting is the setting that leaves a slight amount of play (about 0.2 mm) and does not press against the spool.
ZERO SHAFT
The spool is supported solely by ball bearings. The shaftless design eliminates unnecessary resistance, resulting in ideal spool rotation.
In short, it's the key to a high-output engine that prioritizes casting performance above all else.
UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag)
DAIWA's drag system eliminates the initial sticking when the drag starts to engage, achieving smooth and consistent drag without any sticking, while also providing maximum drag force that increases the tighter you tighten it.
ZAION
DAIWA has successfully molded a special resin, woven with high-density carbon fibers, which is extremely difficult to process, using its proprietary technology. This represents the pinnacle of DAIWA carbon materials, combining astonishing lightness and strength. It can be said that only the top-of-the-line models are permitted to possess this performance.

Product Details

G1 Duralumin φ28mm BF Spool (PE only)
Equipped with a finesse-specific BF spool that maximizes finesse performance. The SS MAGFORCE-exclusive BF spool has been developed to achieve "lower inertia" than conventional spools. To accommodate ultra-light lures, it is equipped with ultra-lightweight micro ball bearings. Not only can you handle smaller rigs with ease, but it also enables "longer approaches and softer landings." A powerful weapon to land that last fish even in the toughest conditions.
*Recommended line capacity is PE 0.4号-50m. Using PE line of 1号 or heavier, or lures of 10g or heavier, will greatly exceed the proper usage conditions for this reel, so please refrain from doing so.
*PE-specific spool: Because the setting has been optimized for PE line, nylon and fluorocarbon lines, which have a lot of stretch and can damage the spool strength, cannot be used.
Drag click
A drag clicker is a mechanism that makes a clicking sound when the line is pulled out during a fight with a fish, allowing anglers to hear the drag working. In the intense struggle of fishing with tight line tension, being able to hear the drag working is a significant advantage for anglers. It is an essential feature, especially when fishing with thin PE line.

To reduce line release resistance during casting, or to expand the "resistance-free range," the reel is equipped with tapered TWS. In addition to expanding the resistance-free range, the synergistic effect with the special surface treatment "DLC" maximizes line release performance. DAIWA continues to refine even its unique technologies, pursuing a casting feel that makes you want to cast again and again.
