Sensory Domain Design System [ESS] (Expert Sense Simulation)
When a rod bends, it generates energy (restoring force) that tries to straighten it up in the opposite direction. This is "strain energy," the force that causes the deformed (strained) blank to return to its original shape, and it is an extremely important factor that affects the performance of the rod. DAIWA has independently developed a system to analyze and design "strain energy," which not only allows them to clearly understand "what is good" and "what is lacking" in numerical terms, but also makes it possible to reflect the angler's intuition in the design, bringing the rod closer to what anglers want.
AGS
The lightweight and highly sensitive AGS (Air Guide System) utilizes a carbon frame. Carbon, with approximately three times the rigidity of titanium, allows for high sensitivity, directly transmitting even the slightest signals through the line to the blank without absorption. Furthermore, the lightweight nature of carbon improves swing speed and reduces tip wobble, significantly enhancing casting distance and control.
SMT (SuperMetalTop)
SMT (Super Metal Top) is DAIWA's unique technology that uses a super-elastic titanium alloy material for the rod tip. Its vibration amplification capabilities, unique to metal, provide anglers with a level of sensitivity impossible with carbon materials. In addition to the strength and resistance to damage characteristic of highly elastic metal materials, it enables a delicate tip that bends flexibly even with slight movements, resulting in superior tactile sensitivity that transmits bites clearly to the angler's hand, as well as visual sensitivity to visible bites.
HYPER_DRY
By creating DAIWA's unique spiral structure of ridges inside the interline rod, the line passing through the interior is kept afloat, preventing sticking and enabling smooth line release. The shape of the ridges has continued to evolve, and the resulting sharp, protruding design has successfully minimized the contact surface with the line. The super water-repellent dry coating inside the rod is applied using a method that ensures even coverage, and measures have been taken to prevent water droplets from accumulating.
V-JOINTα
By employing high-strength nanoalloy material in the joint section and utilizing DAIWA's unique precision machining technology, the V-Joint α was born, evolving the V-JOINT into something even stronger, lighter, and with a smoother bend. For fishing that involves repeated casting, thinning the joint section allows for a slimmer overall blank, improving casting performance and handling.
SVF NANOPLUS
By combining ultra-high-density carbon SVF, which achieves lightness, power, and a slim profile, with Toray Industries' Nanoalloy Technology using DAIWA's unique manufacturing method, even greater strength and weight reduction are possible.
X45
To prevent twisting that occurs during actions such as casting, retrieving, hooking, and fighting, years of research have led to the conclusion that, in addition to the conventional structure (0° and 90° relative to the rod tip), wrapping a "45°" bias cross (carbon fibers, etc., angled at ±45°) is optimal for preventing twisting. By incorporating X45, twisting is prevented, resulting in a dramatic improvement in power, operability, and sensitivity.
AIR SENSOR SEAT
The carbon fiber-reinforced Air Sensor seat achieves lightweight design, high strength, and high sensitivity. It is specifically designed for each rod's intended use, providing a level of operability unmatched by general-purpose reel seats.
