The Grappler, a leader in inshore jigging with its high-rigidity, low-profile HAGANE body and advanced technologies such as X-SHIP, Micro Module Gear, and Exciting Drag Sound, has been renewed with further evolution. Its robustness is increased with a one-piece molded full-aluminum core solid body, and the easy-to-adjust next-generation centrifugal brake, SVS Infinity, allows for precise handling of underhand casts. Furthermore, the handle has been lengthened to 75mm, and various parts have been refined for improved usability. In addition to the HG model, which offers all-around performance suitable for any angler or style, the addition of the XG model with a gear ratio of 7.6 makes this reel capable of handling an even wider range of situations.

Traditionally, baitcasting reels used in jigging have predominantly been round-shaped. This is because they offer superior body rigidity and toughness necessary for jigging and for battling large fish. In contrast, the compactness and light handling of low-profile reels are ideal for fishing where a lighter feel is prioritized. The Grappler boasts a low-profile shape that is easy to palm, while achieving body rigidity comparable to round reels like the Ocea Conquest series, and winding power that can reliably bring in large fish. With its cost performance that surpasses its class, it opens a new door for jigging reels.

High-rigidity core solid body.

The 26 Grappler features a highly rigid, one-piece aluminum core solid body. The level wind protector and side plates, which are usually made separately from the frame, are molded as a single piece of metal. This achieves rigidity and durability approaching that of the Ocea Conquest series. The highly rigid body, which suppresses bending and distortion, efficiently transmits the winding power input by the angler. It supports anglers who face large fish without hesitation.

The smooth and powerful winding action of X-SHIP and Micro Module Gear has been further improved.

At its core, it employs two technologies: micro-module gears and X-SHIP.

Micro-module gears, which exhibit even greater strength by increasing the number of meshing teeth, suppress vibrations caused by gear meshing and achieve smooth, silky winding. In addition, X-SHIP firmly supports the gear system through the optimal placement of both the pinion and drive gears and two-point support of the bearing by the pinion gear. Furthermore, the distortion-free core solid body frame firmly protects the gear meshing, strongly supporting the smooth and powerful winding of X-SHIP and micro-module gears.

The handle length has been extended to 75mm.

Both the HG and XG models have a handle length of 75mm. This is an increase from the previous model's 70mm, making it longer at 75mm. This allows for more powerful retrieval when fishing in deep water, using heavy jigs, or dealing with strong fish pulls. The handle knob also uses the same CI4+ round knob as the previous model, maintaining a comfortable grip and a smooth retrieval feel.

With SVS Infinity, brake adjustment is easy.

The reel features an SVS Infinity braking system, which is also suitable for underhand casting in jigging. Not only does it offer a wide range of adjustment, but the external dial, which can be adjusted without removing the side plate, simplifies operation. This makes it easier to adapt to a wider range of situations and finer control.
