Lighter, more versatile and stronger.
A long-length rod that produces a variety of jig actions.

Slow long rods stand out in the cutting-edge jigging scene, such as bluefish, mid-deep sea, and tonjigi. As a pioneer, Ocea Jigger ∞ Motive, which has been particular about the best balance between length and operability, has evolved further and been renewed. The performance we sought was to control the jig action more lightly and more flexibly. The high-strength blanks, which balance the contradictory performance of "long length but easy to use", combine the flexibility of the entire body bending like a bow with the response of powerfully bouncing the jig. The lightweight, hollow, and highly sensitive carbon rear grip and X guide maximize the performance of the blanks, achieving further improvement in jerk performance, such as a variety of fall actions, control of jig speed, and accuracy in continuing to attack the targeted range. Furthermore, by thoroughly pursuing the balance in which the fulcrum of the bend smoothly shifts to the hand side, we have overcome the issues that are common with long lengths, such as angler fatigue and stress. Motive has taken us one step closer to ideal jigging, producing versatile jig actions at every moment of the fall and jerk.

Key Features

For those seeking the fall who want to break through their limits.

The magic of "fall" stimulates the predatory instinct of all fish eaters. Many jigging experts consider this lure to be the key to their strategy, and although it may look simple, it is actually quite deep. Experienced anglers add their experience and intuition to the classic patterns to set ever-changing traps.

The length of the rod is an effective factor in controlling this "fall". However, as a general rule, the longer the rod, the more strain and stress the angler places on it, and the less accurate the jerk becomes.

To overcome this dilemma, we took on the challenge of developing a new Ocea Jigger∞Motive that would make the impossible possible.

The Shimano development team and Yamamoto Hiroto put in a lot of effort, conducted repeated field tests in various fields, and went through an extraordinary number of prototype rods to complete a slow jigging rod with a completely new concept.

It can handle a wide range of jerks from slow to fast, and overturns the conventional wisdom that "long rods are tiring." Infinite possibilities await you once you've broken through the limits. We want those who seek to master the fall to experience the true essence of this rod - "MOTIVE."

A strong core like a well-trained muscle.

The next-generation basic structure, Spiral X Core, has evolved with the adoption of high-strength materials. The well-established Spiral X has been reviewed from the core, and the blanks have been thoroughly strengthened in all directions, including bending, twisting, and breaking. They are thin and light, yet significantly reduce the unpleasant shaking that is the weakness of thin blanks, and demonstrate a powerful and sharp response. The strength is similar to the muscles of a well-trained athlete, and the jig bounces up with ease. The stable performance increases the angler's concentration, and the peace of mind that no matter how much you bend it, it will not lose strength supports the fight against unexpected large fish with ease.

Slow taper design that accelerates stress-free experience.

*The bending curve is an image and may differ from the actual curve.

"It's a long rod, but it can be easily jerked." This is a keyword that cannot be left out when talking about Motive. The blank bends like a bow, allowing it to respond so powerfully that it easily bounces up jigs, while still putting little strain on the body. The slow-tapered blank brings the fulcrum of the bend closer to the hand than the previous model, allowing for stress-free jigging by precisely controlling the changes and load. The potential to handle both slow and fast lures at will will remind you that bending does not mean powerless.

A guide system that maximizes blank performance.

Guides are an important part for maximizing the performance of blanks. The X-Guide 3D Titanium installed on the Motive is a one-piece guide frame formed by Shimano's unique cold forging technology. In addition to being light, strong, and edgeless, the calculated inclination angle drastically reduces line troubles such as tangles and promotes smooth thread removal. In addition, the guide foot is designed to be as short as possible to suppress the feeling of tension when bending the blank, maximizing the potential with a clean bend, while also clearly transmitting the bite.

Lightweight, hollow and highly sensitive. Equipped with a carbon rear grip.

The rear grip is made of lightweight, hollow, and hard carbon. It has excellent physical vibration transmission, meaning it is highly sensitive. It directly detects and transmits not only bites, but also slight changes in the current and the texture of the bottom. The special presence created by the unique pattern of carbon fiber also highlights the Motive's unique character.

Impressions

The slow taper allows the entire rod to bend. It is easy to jerk and has improved operability and strength.

Hiroto Yamamoto

It's safe to say that it's a long awaited model change for the Ocea Jigger Infinity Motive. I think the new Motive completely eliminates the negative aspects of long rods being sluggish and having poor operability.

The biggest improvement is that the entire blank now bends more smoothly. The slow taper design allows the entire rod to bend. Of course, the repulsive force is sufficient and the tip returns firmly, so you can control the jig as you want. It is easy to jerk, so the jerk feeling in slow jigging has been greatly improved. The previous model was designed with a strong tension and was very easy to operate, but the long length made it a little tiring. The new model has significantly reduced fatigue and stress.

One of the features is the X-guide 3D titanium, which is great because it makes the line less likely to get tangled. Long rods tend to make the line get tangled in the guides more often. I think this will reduce the chances of the line getting tangled in the guides and missing the opportunity when it matters most.

It is equipped with a full holding seat, which gives it excellent grip and operability, and I think the light, highly sensitive carbon rear grip also contributes greatly to improved operability.

The lineup consists of 7 items ranging from 0 power to 6 power. All lengths are 6 feet 10 inches. This commitment to length is the result of the desire for a fall action. In addition to producing a long fall action, it can also produce a slightly sluggish jig action that is unique to long rods. 6 feet 10 inches is a length that is very useful in many situations. It is useful for jigging with a strong fall action, such as mid-deep sea, tonjigi, and yellowfin tuna. It can also be jerked in a short pitch style, so it can be used to target bluefish. It has also been successfully made strong, so it gives you peace of mind in fighting performance and improves its strength. I hope you will use it to target a variety of targets in various fields, as well as slow fishing.

Features

Full holding sheet

Supports high-precision operation.

The tapered tip and constriction processing give it a snug fit and a comfortable grip that won't tire you out, and it can be held in a variety of ways, such as holding it in your hand, on your palm, or with 2 to 4 fingers. In addition, the flat bottom of the grip improves stability when held, supporting high-precision jigging from the hand. Furthermore, the use of carbon reinforced material CI4+ makes it lightweight and highly sensitive.
