The new OCEA JIGGER ∞ is designed with a slower taper in the blanks, bringing the fulcrum of the bend closer to the hand. This improves operability when jerking, and reduces the pulling resistance to the point that it feels like the same jig weight is one rank lighter.

Generally, if the pulling resistance of the rod is reduced, the force that jumps the jig up also decreases.

However, the NEW OCEA JIGGER ∞ has eliminated this disadvantage by making the tip moderately highly resilient, achieving ideal bounce performance without compromising lightness.

In order to balance these opposing elements, we created over 600 prototype rods. We repeatedly combined multiple carbon materials with different characteristics until we were satisfied with the result, and finally completed a rod that allows for a smooth bending curve and smooth power transmission.

The reel seat uses an original "full holding seat". The tapered tip and constriction processing provide a snug fit and a comfortable grip that won't tire you out, and it can be used in a variety of styles, such as holding it in your palm or wrapping it around you. In addition, the flat bottom of the grip improves stability when you hold it, supporting high-precision jigging from the comfort of your hands. Furthermore, the use of carbon reinforced material CI4+ makes it lightweight and highly sensitive.

Spiral X Core

Shimano's unique design and manufacturing method thoroughly pursues even higher strength in all directions, including bending, twisting, and crushing. Shimano's unique basic structure Spiral X, which improves rod performance from the ground up, uses carbon tape made of high-strength resin realized by Nanoalloy® technology. We have achieved even higher strength with carefully selected materials. Compared to general structures, we have achieved 1.4 times the torsional strength and 2.5 times the crushing strength (compared to our company). Furthermore, compared to Spiral X, we have achieved a 10% increase in torsional strength and a 15% increase in crushing strength.

X Guide

The tip section is equipped with an X-guide made of lightweight titanium material. The high rigidity of the strong X-guide prevents unexpected breakage and deformation, enabling high-precision jerks without power loss. Not only does the lighter tip section enable more nimble jerks, but the frame, which uses 3D technology to optimize the inclination angle, allows the line to escape easily and suppresses line tangling at the tip. It also improves the ability to follow bites. This trouble-free design also reduces stress when delicately operating the PE line. It supports more precise and comfortable jigging.

For me, a rod that can catch fish even when the fish are not biting due to pressure is one that can reproduce the subtle movements of a weakened bait by moving in a seductive manner like a living thing.

The key is not to fall or rise, but to create the state of a weak small fish drifting weightlessly in the water. I call this a "fish-catching action," and the key is that the entire body is functioning from the tip to the end. It enters from the tip, transfers power to the belly and butt, and then releases it all the way forward. That's the "force to bend and return." If there is a joint anywhere, this "return" doesn't work, but with new rods, the tip enters with even the slightest action, and it bends naturally all the way to the butt in response to the load, so it transmits movement well even in deep water or with a heavy jig.

This greatly reduces the burden on the angler when moving the jig. You will feel the reduction in fatigue as soon as you use it. The bending fulcrum is set as close as possible to the grip side, making it easy to fight and act. It can be used for elbow-rest jerks and even for holding the rod under the arm.

The nature of slow jigging has changed significantly from 4-5 years ago, and the performance required of a rod is completely different from what was previously imagined. This rod will be an essential rod for anglers who want to keep up with the evolution of slow jigging.

The Ocea Jigger Infinity is basically a slow jigging rod, but this new model is even more resilient than previous models. It is a rod that overturns the stereotype of slow jigging rods in a good way. The butt section in particular is very resilient. Although the blank itself is thin and light, it is resilient, so you can land the fish with the butt. Conventional slow rods focus on hooking the fish and often straighten the rod after a hit, but this rod puts weight on the body and allows you to bring the fish closer while controlling it. Because you bend the rod to catch it, I feel that it is easier to handle than previous rods.

In addition to the theory of slow jigging, the jerk can also be used to create various jig actions such as one-pitch jerks. That doesn't mean that the rod loses its strengths as a slow jigging rod, but since it can be used to change the jerk while improving the slow characteristics, it can be used to broaden the range of lures and is very easy to use. The blank bends all the way up to the grip, so the bite is transmitted firmly to the hand.

However, the good sensitivity of this rod is largely due to the thinness and lightness of the blank. In other words, it has a clear transmission with little interference. Because of this, it is easy to feel the current, bites, and the feeling of fish clinging to the jig. This rod is really good.
